Last Colours

May 26, 2011

Sinemage Autumn Gingko Biloba leaves </br>

Last week-end we drove to Wairarapa and while on the way to the coast, we saw nice colours. The remaining golden foliage on the top of trees, delicately dancing in the breeze. I regretted afterward not taking pictures of them on the way to go as it was night when we drove back. The feeling of a missed opportunity that will not occur sometimes soon again...

After that, I sense my pictures captured at the Botanic Garden lack that notion of wild nature, yet it's my way to pay a last homage to an ending Autumn...

Gorgeous colours! I love the Wairarapa region…I ate and drank so well there! Peter G @ Souvlaki For The Soul

Amazing! These leaves seem so light, so delicate. Just a little piece of life, for a while. Thanks. Cuisine Framboise

Gorgeous! I love ginkgo trees. Cheers, Rosa Rosa

Such a shame when that happens. I try to bring my camera with me all the time and take pictures when something touches me, but sometimes I forget, or am too busy with something else, to shoot what I see. Afterwards I always feel sorry that I missed the chance and keep thinking about it. Anyway, I think the colours you did shoot are beautiful. Karin van D.

C’est très beau, et très déroutant aussi alors qu’ici en Ile de France tout est en train d’exploser de verdure… flo makanai

Loved these pictures - nature doesn’t always have to be wild to be beautiful. Exquisite colours and forms. Sally

I love experiencing the fall season when it is getting hotter and hotter down here in Texas. The ginko trees are so interesting. We don’t have any ginko trees in the US that I know of. Beautiful colors you captured. Snippets of Thyme

The colours & the light are just beautiful :) Mairi @ Toast

All those golden leaves, who could possibly be sad at the colder weather coming with such beauty like that :) hungryandfrozen

You live in such a beautiful place. I love seeing the country through your eyes. Sylvie @ Gourmande in the Kitchen

*Is that a grove of gingko trees? Isn’t that a lovely sight when they change color? I remember the first time I saw a gingko tree as a child – I was strangely fascinated. My dad gave me a leaf that had fallen but was still in pristine condition. I pressed that leaf and still have it today! Best, *Heather** heather

A fitting farewell Vanille. And now comes the bitter cold, argh! shaz

I like ginko leaves, cool to see them half green and half yellow, usually they are green, and all of a sudden yellow, it is not easy to get them half and half like here! Alessandra

Hello Gingko! Did you know they are living fossils? Bunny Eats Design

On se perdrait dans ce feuillage ! vanessa

Love the vivid colours of green and yellow! mycookinghut
